Additionally, she further handles post-dissolution modifications, step-parent adoptions, domestic violence injunctions, and child protective dependency cases involving mental health diagnoses, substance abuse issues and allegations of physical, verbal and emotional abuse.

Jennifer A. Dickens, Esquire

Attorney Jennifer A. Dickens has been a dedicated trial attorney for 27 years, inspired by her grandfather’s legal career. She pursued pre-law at Michigan State University, graduating in 1993, and earned her law degree in 1996 from a law school in Columbus, Ohio, where she was honored by the Order of the Curia. During law school, she clerked for an Ohio Superior Court Judge and worked for a Social Security Disability Law Firm. Her interest in family law grew while volunteering at a Family Law Clinic. After being admitted to the Ohio Bar in 1996 and the Florida Bar in 1997, she worked as an Assistant Public Defender in Duval County and later joined a private law firm.

In 2008, she founded The Dickens Law Firm, P.A., focusing on marital and family law. She practices in Duval, Clay, Nassau, Saint Johns, Baker, Bradford and Putnum counties, as well as throughout North and Central Florida, providing personalized and compassionate legal representation in hundreds of trials, and thousands of cases.

Alexa Villegas, Legal Assistant

Alexandra Villegas shares the love of law and the pursuit of fairness and justice for all. She was born and raised in Venezuela and moved to the United States when she was 13 years old. Ms. Villegas later pursued her studies at the University of North Florida, earning her degree. Dedicated to her position at the Dickens Law Firm, Alexandra is passionate about the law firm's commitment to deeply understanding each client's unique circumstances and to advocating for every client to achieve the most favorable results while keeping clients well informed. Ms. Villegas also conducts legal research and performs supportive legal tasks to ensure the Law Firm's daily operations are handled smoothly and effectively.
